Our 41st Annual Dance Recital: June 24-25, 2022

Our 41st Annual Dance Recital which will be held on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th at the Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby, Everett.  It promises to be an exciting evening of entertainment as students of all ages, preschool through adult, perform in a variety of dance styles.  Curtain time is 7:30 PM both nights.  (Dancers will need to arrive by 6:45 PM.)  Seating is not reserved and you may purchase as many tickets as you wish. Please invite friends and relatives to come and enjoy a family-friendly show that is sure to delight audience members of all ages.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Dress Rehearsal – There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal for all dancers at the Everett Civic Auditorium on Thursday, June 23rd, 4:00-6:00 PM.  Students in Act II (Ballet I/II and above) will rehearse 6:30-8:00.
  • All students (except Preschool and Dance Arts I) will perform both nights of the recital, Friday and Saturday. If you can volunteer to help backstage on one of the nights, please email us.
  • Costumes – We will be passing out costumes during your dancer’s regularly scheduled class beginning Saturday, June 4th.  Please make sure to have a grownup accompany the dancer to the door at the beginning of class to receive yours.  You will receive instructions about how to fix the costumes, hair, make-up, etc.
  • Tickets – Each family with a dancer participating in the recital will receive 4 tickets as part of your Recital Package.  Tickets may be used for either the Friday or Saturday evening performance.  You may pick them up beginning June 4th.  You will need to check your order and sign for the tickets when you pick them up.  Additional tickets may be purchased for $10 each (cash or check only) at that time also.  We will be selling tickets at the studio through June 20th.  Tickets may be purchased at the theater box office on performance nights for $11 each (cash discount, $10 each)
  • What you must provide:

    Preschool I: Girls – ballet pink tights, pink ballet slippers; Boys – black ballet slippers & socks

    Preschool II: black tap shoes, no tights

    Preschool 5: black tap shoes, no tights

    Dance Arts I: Girls – ballet pink tights, pink ballet slippers; Boys – black socks, black ballet slippers

    Dance Arts II & Tap I: Girls – black tap shoes, tan (your skin color) tights; Boys – Black socks & tap      shoes, black dress pants

    Ballet I/Jazz I: pink ballet slippers, tan (your skin color) tights (convertible/transition tights if in Acro)

    Jazz I/II: Girls – tan (your skin color) tights, black jazz shoes; Boys – black jazz shoes, socks, pants

    Jazz II: Girls – tan (your skin color) tights, tan jazz shoes; Boys – black shoes, socks, pants

    Jazz III/IV: black fishnet tights over tan tights, black jazz shoes

    Hip Hop: black socks, black athletic shoes (all black preferred, some white accents OK)

    Lyrical: tan (your skin color) convertible/transition tights, tan turner shoes

    Tap III: Girls – black fishnet tights over tan tights, black tap shoes; Boys – black jazz pants, black socks and tap shoes

    Acrobatics: tan (your skin color) transition/convertible or footless tights

    Ballet I/II, Ballet II, Ballet III, Adult Ballet: Ballet pink tights, pink ballet slippers

Recital Costume Pictures

Costume photoshoots are coming up; you can now book your time and pay in advance!
 
Location: Photoshoots will be held at Alderwood Dance Spectrum.
 
When: June 21st (T) – 22nd (W) 4-8:30 pm. More slots may be open as needed based on demand. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time in costume, with hair done and a light touch of make-up if desired. Upon arrival, check-in with Carrie at the front desk.

Booking Instructions: Please use the student’s name for booking. Start with costume 1 and select more for more costumes! Each “costume” selection will provide you with 1 photo. Please email me if you have any questions. Group photos up to 4 people are allowed.
Cancellations and Rescheduling: Please email me (bittenapplesphotography@gmail.com) 1 hour before your booked appointment time and you will receive a full refund for what you paid. Rescheduling is allowed at no extra charge up until the appointment time and you can reschedule online yourself without contacting me. Be aware that for multiple costumes, there may not be many consecutive time slots left if you reschedule last minute.

Our 5-week Summer Session begins June 28th through July 28th. It’s a great time to try a new class and for current students to keep up their skills.

FAIRY TALE PRINCESSES

This summer we are scheduling Fairy Tale Princess classes in 2-week sessions:

Session A will be July 5th – 14th on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of both weeks
Session B will be July 19th – 28th on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of both weeks

There are 4 class times to choose from:  (you will come at the same time for all 6 classes.) Click on the Schedule under Classes and select Fairy Tale Princesses

Covid-19 Announcment

As you know, Covid-19 guidelines at the State and County level are changing concerning the wearing of face masks. We are still considering how to best implement the new standards and protect our students and families.  We have put a lot of thought and research into designing our original Covid-19 safety protocols and the health and safety of our dancers and their families is still a primary concern.  The ADS faculty and staff will be meeting to develop and update polices as we move forward.  For now:

  • We will no longer be requiring temperature checks upon entering the building.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available.
  • Until further notice, face masks are required to be worn inside the studio.
  • Parent drop-off and pick-up procedures remain the same.
  • Please keep dancers home if they show any signs of illness; make-up classes are available.
